Alice Cescatti was born in New Zealand - Hence the inspiration for light and the landscape of the South Pacific. Studying Fine Art in New Zealand and Interior Design in London she travelled extensively as a Gilder discovering and collecting special inspiration for her work. Also teaching in Vietnam and spending time in Cambodia.
Cescatti specialises in the ancient painting techniques of blending precious metals to create paintings. Layers of sanded gesso and clay are applied onto various sizes of wood panels. Applying layers of silver & gold leaf onto the prepared surface and burnishing the silver/gold leaf surface by using an agate stone to enhance the light and colour.
