Using the encaustic technique (materials which have been used in art for hundreds of years). Not forgetting Jasper John's 'Monumental ghostly depths' (The American Flag) created using the encaustic method.
Sue Bartlet’s frame free paintings are very sculptural - almost bas relief with heavily textured patterns. Applied on to a canvas surface stretched over board.
